Yishao Shum 岑逸少

Born in Hong Kong in 1985 and raised in the UK from the age of ten, Yishao Shum's practice moves between geographies, disciplines, and generations. Trained in architecture and grounded in spatial thinking, he founded studios in both architectural design and youth creativity, exploring how space, gesture, and culture interlace.

Now based in Hong Kong and Beijing, Yishao returns to Chinese calligraphy not as a symbol of the past, but as a living grammar of the body. Through motion, code, and spatial media, he gives form to writing as experience — where heritage is not preserved, but performed.
